This pulled pork recipe has become our family’s preferred method for preparing pulled pork in a slow cooker.
Ingredients
-
3 lbs Pork Shoulder Roast
-
12 oz can of Root Beer
-
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder,
-
1 teaspoon of season salt
-
1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
-
Salt & pepper to taste
-
Your favorite BBQ Sauce
Directions
- Place the shoulder roast in slow cooker. We use a crock pot liner for easier clean up.
- Pour in root beer and add seasonings.
- Cook the roast low for 7-8 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when you can easily shred it with a fork.
- Once the roast is cooked and falling off the bone, remove it from the slow cooker and shred the meat. Once shredded we usually check the flavor and add additional season salt as needed.
- Put the pulled pork back into the slow cooker or a large bowl and toss with your favorite BBQ sauce.
- Serve on a tasty bun or, if you are feeling wild, make some nachos with it!
